As we approach the new year it is easy to get carried away with family and friends. Always remember that responsibility is necessary for all of us to enjoy this holiday season. As one of the most alcohol intensive holidays, New Year’s Eve is also one of the most carefully monitored as well. Officers and Deputies will be out in full force pulling over those who they suspect have been drinking too much to be on the road. Remember that the legal limit is 0.08, and that it is not a difficult number to reach. If you plan to drink, please do not get behind the wheel of your car.

In the event that you do find yourself on the side of the road with lights flashing behind you, please remember to be respectful. These officers are spending their holiday evening with you, rather than with their families. They will not take kindly to spitting, yelling or general hi-jinx of any kind. You will likely be asked to take a breath test, and if you are under the legal limit, then you will happily be on your way. If not, you just may need a lawyer.

Drink responsibly Happy 2013 to you all!
